Metallurgist

We want a metallurgist who can stand up a weld testing lab from zero and turn it into a real engineering capability, not a paperwork exercise. You will decide what equipment belongs in the lab, how it gets used, and what good looks like.

This role is about creating the systems that let us trust our welds: machine selection, fixturing, test design, qualification procedures, documentation, inspection flow, and the discipline to make weld quality the north star for the whole operation.

What You Will Own

Design and launch a weld testing lab from scratch, including layout, capability planning, and tooling priorities.
Choose welding, cutting, fixturing, test, and inspection machines that match the work we actually need to ship.
Develop weld procedures, qualification plans, destructive and non-destructive test flows, and pass/fail criteria.
Own weld quality standards, documentation, traceability, and continuous process improvement.
Run investigations on failed welds or suspect joints and translate findings into actionable manufacturing changes.
Work with design and fabrication teams so welded structures are testable, manufacturable, and repeatable.

Show machine-selection decisions you owned and why they were correct.
Show weld procedures, qualification systems, or quality standards you designed and enforced.
Show failure analysis or quality interventions that materially improved welded hardware.
